Bruce Maddocks & Elliot Sheiner

Elliot Scheiner (right) booked LA's Cups 'N Strings Studios for preparation of the original Steely Dan "Gaucho" (1979-80) multitrack analog masters for release in 5.1 surround. Bruce Maddocks first baked the priceless masters in his laboratory grade mechanical convection oven, which were then played back on a Studer 827 24-track deck. For conversion to 96K/24-bit digital, the procedure called for master clock with the Swissonic WD8, utilizing the Prodif 88 AES/EBU Interface Card and Swissonic A/D converters to Cups 'N Strings Nuendo System digital workstation.
